Kids to Kenya

Thank you very much, American Red Cross for giving me this once-in-a-life-time opportunity to a trip to Kenya, Africa. I am especially thankful to the American Red Cross of Greater Los Angeles for choosing Richard Henry Dana Middle School.

I feel sympathetic about the children in Africa. It is very important to prevent measles deaths in Africa. I would be honored to be part of this important public health event. I would like to make a difference, by saving a life.

I strongly believe that every child in the world has a right to be safe from all diseases, especially a preventable disease like measles. Although I know that measles is one of the leading causes of death in Kenya for children under five-years of age, I find it very hard to believe.

The kids in Kenya have difficult life, with their living conditions and poor health. These are great obstacles for them. I would like to see their lives better than it is now, and interact with them. I think that I would enjoy talking to a person from another country, especially someone my age.
