Because the Ghana campaign was a pilot project so the country to learn how to operationally organize things on a small scale before going nationwide, proper assessment was important to guide strategies and program planning for the larger campaign in 2002. Red Cross conducted exit interview surveys of caretakers leaving vaccination posts to assess the impact of Red Cross volunteers on social mobilization.
